Sunil Sam to Abhishek Tanwar, SIX, 19 off the final over! Just the kind of finish the Panthers were looking for after the collapse. Sam gets the wide yorker wrong and allows Tanwar to get under it. Sliced it high over sweeper cover for a six. What a priceless cameo!

Sunil Sam to Abhishek Tanwar, SIX, that's two in two! Vital blows from Tanwar these, gets a slower bouncer and massacres the pull over deep mid-wicket. This time he clears the fence by some distance
19.2

Sunil Sam to Abhishek Tanwar, SIX, mishit but it's got enough wings to clear the long-off fielder. Was a close shave for Tanwar but he has got a six in the end. Precious runs for the Panthers. Slower one, he skied the lofted stroke up in the air for miles, just went over the long-off fielder

R Divakar to Kiran Akash, out Caught by K Deeban!! This bloke Deeban can do no wrong tonight. Three wickets and some good catches too. This was the slower one outside off, Akash went for the loft and sliced it over extra cover. Deebesh was trekking back and it wasn't exactly a simple catch but he judged it well to take it comfortably. Third scalp for Divakar who brings out his dance moves once more. Kiran Akash c K Deeban b R Divakar 1(2)

R Divakar to J Kousik, out Caught by Vishal Vaidhya!! Another timely breakthrough for the Veerans. They've been on a roll over the past 30-odd minutes. It's Kousik's turn to walk back to the hut and this is a huge blow to the Panthers because he was the one man who could up the ante in these final two overs. Went for the big hit over mid-wicket but couldn't middle it properly. Skewed it high towards Vaidhya who took it calmly. J Kousik c Vishal Vaidhya b R Divakar 27(20) [4s-3]

Sunil Sam to J Kousik, FOUR, excellent batting. Kousik is expecting the wide yorker and is standing deep in the crease, squeezes it out aerially over backward point and got it squarer of the third man fielder who made a desperate attempt in vain
17.4
4
Sunil Sam to J Kousik, FOUR, mistimed but he's found the gap and gets a boundary. Kousik chipping away with some fours. Sam missed the yorker and Kousik was early into the loft. Ensured that he got it between long-on and deep mid-wicket who both tried to get to it, failed

A Srinivas to J Kousik, FOUR, off the edge and goes well wide of Lokeshwar to the fence. Very full and wide, Kousik went for the booming drive, couldn't get it where he intended to but will take the boundary
16.2
W
A Srinivas to Nilesh Subramanian, out Lbw!! The Panthers are imploding here. Wickets falling in clumps and they are in danger of finishing with a below-par total. Was fired in the blockhole by Srinivas and gave no room to Subramanian who tried to flick it away. Struck on the back leg and tha'ts as plumb as it gets. The umpires just wanted to check the front foot no ball but the left-arm spinner is fine on that count. Nilesh Subramanian lbw b A Srinivas 2(3)
16
Mokit Hariharan to J Kousik, 1 run, another messy dropped catch! The Veerans' catching has been miserable to say the least. This was a mistimed slog sweep from Kousik and should have been taken by Siva at long-on made a meal out of it. Simple catch and he's grassed it. Cannot make such mistakes again and again
14.4
W
K Deeban to Karthikeyan, out Caught&Bowled!! What a blinder from Lingesh! My word, that's some catch! Was a length ball that was smashed really hard by Karthikeyan, Lingesh just stuck his right hand almost in self-defence and it stuck. These kind of catches cannot be practised, it's all about fortune and reaction. Came off for Lingesh who gets his third. What a night he is having! Karthikeyan c and b K Deeban 6(7) [4s-1]
14.1
4
K Deeban to Karthikeyan, FOUR, streaky boundary but the Panthers will take it. Full and very wide, Karthikeyan couldn't get under it and squirted an edge that went fine to the third man fence. Lingesh is disappointed and rightly so
13.2
W
A Srinivas to Sargunam, out Caught by Francis Rokins!! This is a huge breakthrough for the Veerans. They are clawing their way back into this game now. The dangerous Sargunam departs. This was in the arc for his slog sweep but couldn't connect well enough and skewed it high to deep mid-wicket. Dolly for Rokins near the fence. Sargunam c Francis Rokins b A Srinivas 62(40) [4s-1 6s-7]
12.2
W
K Deeban to Shijit Chandran, out Caught by Francis Rokins!! Superb take from Rokins! The Veerans have been guilty of their catching tonight but this is a screamer. Chandran didn't get hold of the loft properly and it went flat towards sweeper cover where it was always dipping on Rokins. He timed the dive to perfection and pouched the catch low with ease. The umpires just wanted to check if it's clean and replays confirm that it is. Shijit Chandran c Francis Rokins b K Deeban 5(5) [4s-1]
11.5
6
Sanjay Yadav to Sargunam, SIX, horrible ball and gets the treatment. Another full toss, Sargunam has got quite a few tonight and hasn't missed out on any of them. Slog sweeps this with aplomb over deep square leg
11.1
4
Sanjay Yadav to Shijit Chandran, FOUR, deft from Chandran. He hardly ever wastes any time in getting off the blocks. Quicker one from Yadav, Chandran just used the pace and played the late cut at the last moment. Gets it wide of the keeper and fine past short third man

W
R Divakar to D Rohit, out Caught by K Deeban at long on!! That's the end of Rohit. Eventful over and the Veerans eventually get a wicket. Divakar lets out a celebratory jig to vent out his emotions. The slower ball works for him, deceives Rohit who was early into the loft and one hand came off the handle in the process as well. High towards long-on where Deeban made no mistake. Once again the Panthers' skipper gets a start without converting. D Rohit c K Deeban b R Divakar 32(30) [4s-4]

R Divakar to Sargunam, SIX, talk about adding salt into the wounds, dropped catch followed by a huge six. Slower half-tracker, Sargunam rocks back in a jiffy and smacks the pull over deep mid-wicket. 50 for Sargunam, top knock!
10.2
R Divakar to Sargunam, no run, another one goes down! This was a tougher one though, caught and bowleds usually are though Divakar will feel he could have held on. This stuck onto the surface as Sargunam went for the back foot push. Mistimed it back to the bowler who struck out his left hand, but it didn't stick
10.1
R Divakar to D Rohit, 1 run, another dropped catch! Not an easy one but these need to be taken. Rohit survives. Couldn't control the slash and sliced it to third man where the fielder did the hard yards by timing the dive but couldn't latch on
9.1
6
Sanjay Yadav to Sargunam, SIX, gift from Yadav to start with and he pays the price. Juicy full toss, dangerous to bowling these to a roaring Sargunam who just slog sweeps it way over deep backward square leg. He's dealing in sixes
8.5
4
R Divakar to D Rohit, FOUR, carved over backward point. Short and very wide outside off, right up Rohit's ally and he sliced it merrily behind square on the off-side. Fine placement
8
6
A Srinivas to Sargunam, SIX, dumped into the crowd. Spoils what was shaping to be a tight over. Too full from Srinivas and Sargunam down on one knee to sweep it over deep mid-wicket. Clean connection and away she went
6.5
4
Mokit Hariharan to D Rohit, FOUR, easy pickings. Hariharan hasn't found the length this over, another half-tracker, this time outside off and Rohit clobbers it off the back foot through extra cover
6.4
Mokit Hariharan to Sargunam, 1 run, another mishit and it once again falls safe. Sargunam has been lucky quite a few times tonight, including a dropped catch. This was a skiddy half-tracker and he skewed the pull high over mid-wicket. Fell in front of the converging long-on and deep mid-wicket
6.1
6
Mokit Hariharan to Sargunam, SIX, mauled over deep backward square leg. Not the ideal start for the rookie, half tracker and Sargunam wasn't going to miss out. Rocks back and smacks the pull with sheer power
5.3
4
R Divakar to D Rohit, FOUR, cracked away! Slower ball perhaps but too wide and a bit short as well, Rohit waited and slapped it away through the covers. Hit it on the rise and found the gap as well
5
6
A Srinivas to Sargunam, SIX, bang! With mid-on up, Sargunam decides to go over him and makes clean contact to send it all the way for a six. Lovely strike! It was tossed up by Srinivas and probably pitched it fuller than he would have liked. Sargunam cleared his front leg and went boom
3.5
Sunil Sam to Sargunam, 1 run, dropped! Sanjay the culprit and this was a much easier chance compared to the one he took to dismiss Karthik. It was a mistimed flick from Sargunam and went miles up in the air towards deep mid-wicket. Sanjay had all the time in the world to judge it but made a meal out of it. Not the first though that such high catches have been dropped in the TNPL. Sam isn't amused, what a wicket this would have been!
3.2
4
Sunil Sam to D Rohit, FOUR, swagger from Rohit, walks down the track and makes room to slap it fiercely. Beats extra cover and got it wide of the mid-off fielder as well. Terrific stroke
2.4
4
K Deeban to Sargunam, FOUR, a slightly fidgety stroke but the inventive nature of the shot pays off for Sargunam. Premeditated the walk across the sticks and although the length wasn't there, he watched the ball closely before executing the scoop. Beats short fine leg and that will do
2.1
6
K Deeban to Sargunam, SIX, what a shot! It's almost gone out of the ground. Half volley on the pads, Sargunam just shuffles a touch and nonchalantly dropkicks it over deep backward square leg. Strong wrists from Thalaivan, he did mishit one earlier but this was off the meat alright. Easily one of the biggest sixes of the season

W
K Deeban to Arun Karthik, out Caught by Sanjay Yadav!! Gone! Massive wicket! The wild celebrations of the Veerans' players show how huge this wicket is. Arun Karthik has to depart. Another half-tracker, he had to fetch it from outside off but had made decent contact on the pull. Only issue was the placement and he found deep mid-wicket to perfection. Wasn't an easy catch Sanjay takes it neatly with a forward dive and races away madly in glee. So does Lingesh. Ideal start for the Veerans. Arun Karthik c Sanjay Yadav b K Deeban 4(2) [4s-1]

K Deeban to Arun Karthik, FOUR, this was a mistimed stroke but it's got into the gap and a chasing short fine leg fielder and deep backward square leg fielder cannot get to it. Short of a length outside off, Karthik mistimed the pull off the inside half to the fence
